gingerbread

Gingerbread milkshake. Okay, it wasn’t really good for me, but it sure tasted good. The flavor was milder than I expected. I think I might make real  gingerbread, maybe people.

The best dessert I ever had was a pear upsidedown cake. It was at our local German restaurant. I believe there was a homemade caramel sauce, then the sliced pears and moist gingerbread. I tried to order it the next time we went there, but was informed that it was a one time dessert, made by someone who isn’t the usual pastry chef.

I’m make teriyaki chicken tonight. It is our version of George’s recipe. And vegetable to stir fry and rice. With this for dinner at least I know people will eat tonight.

Dead on the couch

Yesterdays post would have been “don’t drink beer” but that was unintentional because I was too sick to eat, let alone drink.

All better now, must have been the stomach flu.

The good thing today was finishing the first order of muslin bags for SAJ.  We’re both making money off this deal and that is way good.

This project gives me something to think about and is very profitable. A bird in the hand is way better than one lurking in the bush. Thanks for giving me this opportunity.

I figured out a new way to construct the bag. It is faster and less bulky at the bottom. It’s even better than the sample I sent in the overnight package.

Another good thing is take out chinese. It’s the old man’s birthday. He’s fallen asleep already so I may have it for lunch tomorrow.

Today’s improvement was to add 2 servings of broccoli and cauliflower to a leftover baked potato. Add some ranch and a little cheese, mash all together and bake at 350 for 30 minutes.

New month- new goals

I’m going to find one new thing each day to improve my life.

Today I made pancakes for the family. I used peaches instead of syrup.

Favorite brand lite syrup has 100 calories per 1/4 cup and 18 grams of sugar.

S&W Sweet Memory Peaches with a hint of cinnamon has only 40 calories and 9 grams of sugar. Quite a savings for a chubby girl. I put the whole can in the blender and hit puree. You could heat it up in the microwave. The entire can is only 280 calories, you could eat it all or save some for tomorrow.
