High speed is not all it should be

I think this will drive me around the bend. In the time it took to type the title I had to get rid of 3 pop-ups. And everytime I have gotten on a weird spybot thing is there and won’t let me in.

On a better note….I made a bunch of magnets with fancy metal buttons. I’m going to run outside and take some pictures. Hopefully I can get them posted before the old man comes home.  He has a big job getting the computer all in order.

And the picture won’t show up on the tv when the cable is on…so we’re watching Harry Potter on DVD.

Absent poster

I know I have been absent the last few days. I am waiting for my Comcast hi-speed internet to be installed on Wednesday.

And I haven’t had anything earth shattering to say.

Random thoughts

I should have something to post everyday, but I don’t feel I have anything worth saying. It doesn’t stop me from talking even when I have nothing to say…..so I should just post it here and be done.

I swear no one wants to listen to me around here. Oh, those teenagers and that busy, busy husband.

This chatty cathy married a quiet mouse.

What am I working on…..fingerless gloves. They are so cute and useful if your hands are cold. You can type  while wearing them. I don’t have cold hand, thank you menopause, but a lot of people do.

I need to get back to my keychain wallets.

Talking the pictures of my finished projects always sets me back.

Well, I’m off to finish the chicken I’m cooking.

Green cake

becky-is-12023.jpgAnd when I say green I don’t mean eco-friendly.

My daughter turned 12 last month. She is into green, the number 37, the name Bob and frogs.

We took and ordinary butter cake mix and replaced some of the water with green food coloring….about 1/3 of a big bottle of food coloring.

She helped make the cake and did most of the decorating. I think it is gastly. She was thrilled with the results.

Be aware that with that much food coloring you will poop green…LOL.

As you can see, it was a Very Green Cake.

I’m all in. The Flickr account is updated for bluejayecrafts. Maybe I can feature stuff that will never make it into the etsy store. Or maybe follow a projects progression.

And now I can join in all the trading/crafting/socializing groups that everyone is involved in. So far I only have 2 readers/commenters so they will have to direct me for the next exchange.

What’s for dinner tonight?

dscf2675.jpgdscf2667.jpg Okay, I should have edited the pictures first, but somehow I keep deleting this post.  I can’t figure out how to rotate the picture. I need to be finished. This feels like an accomplishment.

This lovely plant was given to us by Grandma Patty. I beleive it is a Christmas Amaralis. I stands 2 feet tall, has 2 stems with 4  red-orange blossoms each. There are 4 more stems growing from the center. Do you think they will produce flowers also?

Thanks for the beauty.

Happy New Year!!!

I have  updated the whole blog. I spent over 3 hours this morning. What do you think?

Last night we had 3 teenage boys over. They stayed up most of the night playing various video games. They were so quiet, I never heard them. They didn’t get up until 10:30. My son taught them how to make ‘egg mcmuffins’, a hit with 13 year old boys.

Egg McMuffins at home

1 whole wheat english muffin, toasted

2 slices of canadian bacon

1 slice of american cheese

1 egg

Butter a round bowl, crack egg into bowl, add salt & pepper, beat well.

Microwave for 50 seconds.

Assemble-muffin, meat, egg, cheese, muffin top.

This is the best school morning breakfast. The kids can make it themselves and it sticks with them until lunch.

Well, anyway…Happy New Year.

Tonight the girls are over. Well, one girl. All the boys went home. Who knew tickling was so popular with boys…and kicking, slugging…what’s with all the touching and sqwealing like girls. Tonight should be quieter.

A whole night of Wii sports. Yea, a video game a mom can play.
